Golden Jubilee of the Church : This   Church Building will be 50 years old this month. It was solemnly opened by Archbishop Campbell on Sunday 28 September 1958. Archbishop Conti will celebrate Mass with us on Sunday 28 September at 12noon to mark the Golden Jubilee of the Church. All are invited to this Mass and to the Hall afterwards for light refreshments. There will be no 10.00am Mass on 28 September to encourage more people to come to the Jubilee Mass.

Parish Council Meeting : Takes place this Monday 8 September at 7.00pm

Children's Liturgy: The Children's Liturgy will begin again at the 10 am Mass on Sunday, 7 September. If anyone is interested in helping with this, please get in touch with Father Martin.

Confirmation:   The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated for Primary 4 children on Thursday 6 November, at 6.30pm. Parents will have the opportunity to put their child forward for the Sacrament in the near future

Catechists' Course: The diocese is running a course this year for parishioners who assist with the preparation of of primary children for Confirmation and First Communion. We need more people to help with this important role. If you are interested, ask Father Martin for more details.

Interested in becoming a Catholic? If you are, or know someone who is, then the meetings for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults begin with an introductory evening on Tuesday, 9 September, at 7.00 pm downstairs in the Hall..

Charity Fashion Show : Denise would like to thank everyone for their support at the Fashion Show last Friday. £2,046.55 was raised for "Maggie's Cancer Care Centre".

Youth Mass : The next Youth Mass will take place on Sunday 14 th September at 6.30pm. All Youth in the Parish are welcome.

Dance: There will be a dance in the church hall on Friday, 19 September from 7.30-11.30 pm. Music by Mark Taggart. Bar - Raffle - Irish Bingo. Tickets are £4 each on sale now after all Masses.

Catering for Funerals : There is a Group of Volunteer Ladies within the parish who provide, when required, Catering (Teas, Sandwiches etc) for Funerals that take place within the parish. These are served in the Church Hall. Details of Costs, Menus etc can be had from Isabel Young Tel No 01389 876315.

Bingo : The Bingo has restarted in the Hall every Tuesday night 7.30pm   - 9.30pm. Come along and meet with your friends and enjoy the company.

Rome/Orvieto Pilgrimage 26 Aug - 5 Sept 2009: There is a special meeting of the Pilgrimage Group on Monday 8 th September at 7.30pm in the Lower Parish Hall. Anne Marie from Alba Tours will attend the meeting to discuss matters relating to the Pilgrimage.

Parish Collections: Last week's collection was: Gift Aid: £4068.00; Offertory: £728.37 Gift Aid donations receive a further 30% from the Inland Revenue. A further £878 was received by standing order in the last month. Thanks to everyone.

Prayer Group: The parish prayer group meets each Wednesday at 7.30 pm in the Hall. All are welcome.
